Tips from our Groomer

Grooming is an important part of pet care throughout the year. Of course, different breeds and fur types require different levels of care and attention. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Make sure to brush and comb out your dog on a regular basis. This is especially important for breeds like poodles/doodles, bichon frise, and maltese.
  • Power rinses at DogServices are a great option to clean your dog in-between full baths. But can we also suggest adding a brush-out beforehand? Small knots in dogs’ fur, known as matting, get even tighter as the fur gets wet and dries again. Those matts can be difficult to brush out and painful for the dog.
  • If your dog suffers from dry skin, consider an oatmeal bath. It will moisturize and soothe dry skin. You can use an oatmeal shampoo at home or add an oatmeal bath to your dog’s next visit to DogServices.

These tips are courtesy of our professional dog groomer, Christina who has 8 years of grooming experience. If your dog needs a bath, trim, nail cut, teeth brushing, oatmeal bath, or other grooming service, please give any DogServices location a call. We look forward to making your dog look and feel their best.
